By accessing or using Dark Canary ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Dark Canary is a community awareness tool that aggregates publicly posted sighting reports from the Bluesky social network. The App displays these reports on an interactive map and provides optional proximity-based push notifications. Dark Canary is not affiliated with any government agency or law enforcement body.

The App provides links to third-party legal resources for informational purposes only. Nothing in the App constitutes legal advice. If you need legal assistance, consult a qualified attorney.

Dark Canary makes no warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of sighting data. Reports are sourced from public Bluesky posts and may be inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete. Do not rely solely on this App for personal safety decisions.

Reports posted via Bluesky are public posts on the AT Protocol network. Once published, they are governed by Bluesky's terms of service and are visible to anyone on the Bluesky network. Dark Canary reads public Bluesky posts but does not control or moderate content on the Bluesky platform.

Dark Canary is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developers and contributors of Dark Canary shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use of or inability to use the App, including but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated accordingly.
